Abigail Burrows (UK)

Fife Project Leader

Abigail is Concordia's Fife Project Leader. She travelled to Kenya with the Foundation for their Music for Life mission in 2011 and led fife workshops in schools, orphanages and slums. Following the success of this project, she has worked with Concordia to establish a further fourteen clubs across London and Nairobi, involving over 420 children. In 2014 she ran Concordia's Autumn Young Audiences project 'The Magic Fife' which introduced children to Mozart's opera 'The Magic Flute'. Working in primary schools in Islington, Westminster and Tower Hamlets, sessions included singing, musical games, performances, mask making, fife lessons and an in-school falconry visit.

Abigail studied the flute at the Purcell School and Royal College of Music. She leads a busy and varied career as a soloist, orchestral musician and educator. She has performed in concerts throughout UK, Swizerland, Norway, Russia, Germany, Morocco, Monte Carlo and Africa, and is currently the flute player on the UK & Ireland Tour of hit musical 'Wicked'.

Moses Watatua (Kenya)

Music for Life Project Advisor & Head (Kenya)

Moses Watatua has dedicated his life to bringing about positive change through music. He has been an educator for over twenty years and worked in a variety of establishments from local to international schools. He is currently holding a number of positions in various organisations; Head of Music at Nairobi School, Musical Director at Ghetto Classics, on the Advisory board at Art of Music, Chair trustee and founder of Harmony Kenya Foundation and also consults as a Music educator.

As a whole Moses believes in the power that a great educator and learning institution can have in one’s life, thus making it his mission in life to support and empower institutions that aim to do the same. Concordia foundation being one such organization it made perfect sense to partner with them, and together bring a much needed positive change in the music education at St Johns School.
